Profile
Personal Life
Born in the beautiful Seychelles, with a diverse heritage combining Gibraltarian and Chinese roots. I grew up in London, UK, where I was immersed in a vibrant mix of cultures and perspectives, and the challenges that these sometimes posed. My life has been a journey shaped by different worlds and experiences. Now, I find myself living in Singapore, where we’ve been since 2022, alongside my two wonderful (and hilariously cheeky) teenage children and my husband, a French naval architect engineer who balances my spontaneity with his steady, well balanced, approach to life.
Medical Training and Professional Experience
I began my medical journey at St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London and was fortunate to gain international experience at Hôpital Pellegrin, CHU in Bordeaux, France. My junior doctor training took me across several hospitals in the South of England, including Southampton University Hospital, before I completed my GP training in the Wessex Deanery, UK.
For over 20 years, I have been a qualified doctor, with 18 of those years as a practicing GP in the UK. My roles have varied from working freelance and salaried positions to being a GP Partner, always with the aim of providing compassionate care. Beyond clinical work, I’ve served as a GP Appraiser, taught medical students, and mentored colleagues and allied healthcare professionals. Currently, I am expanding my knowledge by studying for a Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Passions
I am passionate about nurturing meaningful connections with friends and family, exploring the intricacies of human behaviour, and continuing to learn and grow throughout life. Food is another love of mine—it’s a wonderful way to bring people together and experience different cultures.
My Mentoring & Coaching Philosophy
I believe in a coaching approach that is centred on the client, grounded in empathy, and built on a foundation of unconditional positive regard. My aim is to help clients unlock their potential by fostering self-confidence, breaking down barriers, and viewing life’s changes and challenges as opportunities for growth.
Having spent over two decades caring for patients with mental health concerns as a doctor, I have learned that these challenges can manifest in many ways. It has been a privilege to support patients through difficult times. In coaching, I see the chance to go further—to help clients not just overcome their struggles, but to grow and thrive beyond them.
I have also seen colleagues in the healthcare profession struggle with so many challenges from within their personal lives, in the professional lives, in their institutions, in politics and within the wider negative public opinion towards the NHS staff. All the while trying their best to do the best for their patients in the face of growing adversity and pressures, at the cost of their own self.
Although my professional roots are deeply embedded in medicine, my approach to coaching is inclusive and open to anyone seeking growth and positive change in their lives. I am here to support clients from all walks of life.
