Janice Martin

I am an independent school improvement adviser, specialising in SEND. I was a secondary SENCo in London and Northamptonshire and a Deputy Head in a special school in Tower Hamlets, and Executive Headteacher of a special school in Hong Kong. I was a Local Authority SEND inspector and has held Local Authority senior leadership roles as Head of Inclusion and Head of School Improvement.

I have been a School Improvement Specialist for secondary and primary mainstream and special schools and PRUs in Milton Keynes, Brent and Harrow and am a SIP for a number of special schools around the country. I am a Director of two Multi Academy Trusts, one in Harrow and one in Northamptonshire.

I have provided SEND training for Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Brent and Harrow LAs, in addition to delivering at national conferences. I have extensive Ofsted experience. In addition, I am an External Adviser to a number of special school headteachers, and MAT Executive Headteachers and CEOs for Annual Appraisal.
I have written two e-books for Optimus publishers on Measuring Progress of SEND pupils and writing Case Studies for SEND pupils and writes articles on SEND for several educational journals.
